I am a coach of a 14u travel team. I teach the palm ball as a changeup. The kids are use to it because when they were little that is how they threw the ball.

- Changeup's really all about the pronation of the arm on release. With a good grip and a little turning it over at the end, you should get some nice downward movement with no stress on the arm. We've got some good discussions on the changeup at letstalkpitching.com.

- Running and lifting in the off-season are pretty standard ... just be sure to really add some more explosive training like plyos and med-ball work. We want to train the movements of pitching more explosively in the weight room!
